About

Make a difference. Then go one step further.

Our mission

Our mission is to change the direction of a life. For a young person, that means a skill and a future they were never told was theirs. For a veteran, it means sustainable work with purpose after service. We do it through careers in entertainment and the arts, one person and one community at a time.

Leadership

Every track the Institute teaches is one I have worked. We teach what we do for a living, and then we hire the people we taught.WAYNE D. BURDETTE JR., FOUNDER & EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

A working film professional with more than forty credits as a cinematographer, producer, director and writer, with experience as a talent agent and manager and on camera. He is Executive Director of the Swan Lake Film Festival and leads a small team of working film professionals who teach what they do. He also brings thirty years of service in fire and EMS, which is where the Foundation's commitment to veterans, and to training people for real jobs, comes from.
